THE CAST

Alan Smithee (writer and director)

“As is intertwined into the body of all of my creations, I only humbly ask that you look deeper and more introspectively into the underlying metaphoric value and symbolic message of Chow Lee’s Angels.  The first four episodes represent a journey of the spirit in the self discovery of man’s own quest to embrace his own dysfunctional shortcomings and also learn acceptance of  his fellow mans’ flaws as well; only then, will he find the true crescendo of power and balance in a utopian universe where all live equally and without judgment.”

Christina Aceto (Anna Mona Tana)
Christina is super thrilled to be a part of Chow Lee's Angels! Acting-wise, she has studied at The Actor's Network for quite a few years, as well as participating in local theatre productions. She has also studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institution in New York, as well as several workshops within Toronto.
Christina will also be seen in "Determined"- a short film based on the novel " The Queen's Daughter"- which will be hitting festivals by the summer/fall 2010. Her most recent theatre roles include Hermia ( A Midsummer Night's Dream), Shelby ( Steel Magnolias), and  Harriet/ Bridget Jones ( Tom Jones). She will also be in the Toronto Fringe Festival in June/July 2010 in the role of April in the original play "All or None".
Having worked at the Bang Bang Bar as one of the Bar Divas, she is well aware of the shenanigans that goes on in that amazing place! It has been an honour, and a blast, working with all of these fine people! She looks forward to more Chow Lee adventures to come!

Dylan Lee (Gwen Stephanie Yee)
Previously a nationally ranked fitness competitor, Dylan now makes her acting debut on Chow Lee’s Angels.  Currently studying at The Actors Network under the guidance of the super genius legendary director Glenn Bang, Dylan (in true “method” fashion) bulked up, gaining over twenty pounds of muscle to authentically portray the character of Gwen Stephanie Yee.
Since her early childhood, Dylan was raised in an athletic environment; her father was a 6th degree Tae Kwon Do instructor and her mother a professional fire mime.  Aside from constantly living in the fitness world, Dylan had a hiatus of six years where she aided underprivileged children in North Korea.
Currently Dylan is in production on two feminine hygiene commercials and will soon be featured in a print ad campaign for the prevention of socially communicable infections via unsightly body follicle hair growth.

Il Jung Kim (Chow Lee)
The resurrection of the role of Chow Lee (both figuratively and literally) marks the return to screen of the legend from the days of black and white silent film Il Jung Kim.  With two “Fuji” statues (the equivalent to the “Oscar” in Asia) and another seven nominations, Il Jung’s illustrious career spans over four decades and thousands of feature films, guest starring television appearances and various background performances.
Il Jung dedicates his role as Chow Lee to his seventeen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren as well as the troubled youth of today and encourages children to spend more time experiencing life and less time in front of the computer – except for watching the Chow Lee’s Angels series!

Robert J Tavenor (Liquor Inspector Socan)
Born in Kitchener-Waterloo, Robert got a taste of the lime-light early on being reported in the local newspaper as one of the first surviving triplets in 20 years.  While growing up in Waterloo in a family of 5 sisters Robert earned a degree in marketing. He moved to Toronto where he spent 15 years in the finance world.
It was at that point that he got back into the lime-light again and joined the world of acting.  After spending a few years enjoying roles in multiple independent films and commercials in Toronto Robert branched out to Montreal where he had the privilege to work along side notable actors such as Lea Thompson in A life Interrupted, Shannon Elizabeth in You Belong To Me, Don Cheadle in Talk To Me and Judy Davis and Hugh Laurie in The Judy Garland Story.  Other projects include roles on Mayday, The Jon Dore Show and The Rick Mercer Report.
Most recently Robert can be seen on Durham County and has just finished working on the feature film Dream House directed by Jim Sheridan starring Daniel Craig currently being shot in Toronto.  Working on Chow Lee’s Angels was particularly exciting as Robert was given the chance to not only act in the show but to participate as 1st AD as well as taking part in casting, locations and producing.
